Hamilton Township has a community aggregation rate for natural gas and electric. The current three year, fixed rate for electric is 5.18 cents pkw/h (down from the recent 5.41 cents) good from July 2017 through July 2020. You are automatically enrolled into the program, unless you have chosen a third party supplier on your own.  You may opt out/in of the program by calling MidAmerican Energy Services at 1-800-342-3346.  The Township purchases natural gas from IGS on a variable monthly rate. You may join this program by calling 1-888-995-0992.

Hamilton Township’s natural gas program rates have been lower than the alternative from Duke Energy for the past 46 months in a row.  Over the past 3 years the average residential account has saved $48/year.  In 2017 the average residential account saved $31/year, and small businesses saved an average of $44/year (the program is still beating Duke’s rates by the same margin, but as natural gas prices have collectively come down over the past years that savings amount has come down as well).  Anyone interested in joining Hamilton Township’s natural gas program can contact IGS Energy at 877-353-0162 to enroll.

Hamilton Township’s electric program has also been providing savings for residents and businesses.  The electric program rates have been lower than the alternative from Duke Energy since the program’s inception (45 months in a row) and in 2017 the average residential account saved $110/year.  Anyone interested in joining Hamilton Township’s electric program can contact MidAmerican Energy at 800-342-3346 to enroll.
